What my crazy amazing life has given to me

I am grateful for it all. I know you hear me complain but I am grateful for it all.  My life has taught me to have compassion, centeredness, and have lots of fun. I love myself so much; I am in love with me. How grateful I am to be able to say that.  My life has given me sorrows that I don't wish on another. It has taken me to the edge of sanity to see what lies beneath. I am grateful to have stayed above the surface in my sanity. It has given me perception into the below while building appreciation for sanity - what a beautiful gift.  I am grateful to be a therapist. I understand the importance of the skills. I know how to use the skills. My individual therapy has taught me to use coping skills and being a therapist has deepened my appreciation.  I appreciate the different job experiences that I have worked. I worked as a collector for a major credit card company from 2009 to 2013. That taught me the importance of saving and not accumulating credit card debt. I am l...

In a dream, my aunt greeted me in a garden

I was in a dream.  I knew that I was lucid dreaming so I choose to fly around. When I settled back on ground, I walked into a square garden. I wanted to speak with someone from my family so I called out into the ethers.  A sparkling silhouette approached the garden gate and I welcomed her in. She announced that she was my step aunt Marjory that had passed away. She told me that my grandparents were busy with other objectives but she wanted to come so that I knew I was loved and supported.  She told me that the LDS / Mormon / Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was a "fine religion." Those were the exact words that I heard. One of the definitions of fine means "high quality." What this means to me is that the LDS faith can help people achieve enlightenment.  I took from this dream is that my anger with the religion is my own. This faith serves many people. If this is the faith that helps people find happiness, I support that. My anger with my own experience w...

Self Discovery

Image
I was reading some of the older blogs on here. I did get better. I have been getting better since 2020. 2019/2020 were my lowest years. I used to think my post divorce years were the lowest. But hey I had a blast then. I am too old for that shit now. The years make me bitter. Really, it was probably the alcohol. My current addictions are nicotine, coffee, and nonalcoholic beverages. I have got to cut this nicotine habit: side note. The universe will do that to us; things get worse and worse until we learn our lesson. I am learning my lessons. I am growing. I am grateful for that. I look back and I pity who I have been: a sad, lost girl. But I love her still. She did her best. She has maintained a job always, even if sometimes barely LOL. She takes care of her little dog, her baby girl. I love my previous self, even through the self inflicted pain. I have been in therapy for over 8 years now (combined years.) I have read books. I have worked my ass off to be better even as I slipped int...

Time Off of Social Media & Accountability

Image
I am taking some time off of social media to deepen the reconnection to myself.  I have had two days off insta and Facebook. So far it’s been nice. I have been reconnecting with my creativity. I like to be a busy bee and social media can drain me.   It hasn't been helping my mental health lately. It can be an easy distraction but it gets me too in my head about what others are thinking.  Taking a break makes me want to be more careful with my energy. People who don't like me are quick to talk nasty about me.  If you have a grievance with me, you are welcome to contact me and I will listen to what you have to say.  My intention is that I want to connect to my highest self more clearly to guide me on my path to helping humans achieve our greatest kindness. We have so much that we can achieve as a species. But it requires everyone to have access to mental health and spiritual connections. That means everyone needs to be able to afford life and to live comfortably. ...

My dream and the allegory for life

I had a dream where I built a model world. In my world, I built a hotel with many rooms. There were showcases of art, dancing clubs, shopping centers, and dining areas, all connected by a long hallway. I arranged the space the way I wanted to.  After building my world, I became small enough to fit into the hotel. It was my hotel and I could run it the way that I wanted. It was great. But then there was a zombie apocalypse. I was suddenly protecting the hotel with other staff members and annihilating zombies.  It was like a video game; when I died, I would be reawakened and allowed to come back to protect my space.  The hotel was on the precipice of being lost. However, I was able to corral the troops and we started to take it back. As we begun to triumph, we played music and the zombies started dancing, not as coordinated as the music video for Thriller but more like the zombies in the tv show Midnight Gospel. My world found peace after making it through turmoil.  Th...

Kickboxing Manifestations

While at kickboxing today, I had three thoughts:  1. Everyone would benefit from a healthy outlet for anger.  2. I can notice other peoples' reactions and moods and not react. I do not need to adjust my behavior for them. I do not need to fix their insecurities or bad moods.  3. When I do my best, I encourage others to do their best.  Here are my long notes: 1. Anger gets pent up. I didn't go to kickboxing for a few weeks and I have found myself crankier. When I go to kickboxing, I put my issues on the bag. I put my family on the bag. I put the people and situations who piss me onto the bag. I put current issues onto the bag. And I punch the fuck out of them. I feel relieved when I am done. Just like a good cry can leave me feeling relieved, punching until I can't breathe makes me feel lighter and more forgiving.  2. My codependency makes me feel responsible for others people behavior and moods. When I was growing up, caretaking others emotions was a safet...

I was told by a white, older man that I am difficult to manage

He began by telling me that people like me are like a double edged sword. That I am ambitious and driven. On the other hand, I am difficult to manage.  Hot damn. Would he say that to man? He just told me to stay in my lane. Be great, but not too great.  I am ambitious. Maybe that makes me difficult to manage. I say what I think. I can be a bit abrupt. I have worked on being more gentle and conveying my positive intent. I am not mean. I do not have a negative intention. I appreciate direct communication and cutting through the bullshit.  I am a kind leader. I seek to be inclusive, asking for feedback, seeking to not step on others' toes. The patriarchy is a system that is built on aggression and hierarchy. I don't play well within hierarchies because it generally is based on what I say because I say it, and not because it is the best idea.  I have decided to not stay in my lane. As I have been stepping into my personal power, I have been finding my voice. I am g...
